What was the highlight of VILLA 67 Hotel Apartments

Cool old villa in deep Thao Dien with mellow staff and good amenities.

The tropical, old school aesthetics of this villa compound can't be beat. Lovely, long pool for doing laps. Super responsive and very friendly staff. I extended my stay for a week in a larger room with a balcony. Loved it.

Staff were nice, wifi was good and it wasn't too far...

Staff were nice, wifi was good and it wasn't too far from restaurants and bars.

The hotel could be really nice but I felt like they didn't care for the look of the rooms. This hostel has loads of potential but noone looked after the interior. On entering the hotel there is a grand staircase leading to the rooms but it looked old and warn down. The pool had debris in it from the building work next door.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, as I arrived in the early hours of the morning and they were happy to greet me and let me in. They also always had a smile on there face and made me feel right at home.

Three potential is there but it's not happening atm

The architecture

Firstly, noise from the street (I can turn a blind eye to that... but now, read the rest) I requested that we check in at 10am. We arrived later and we had to wait almost 45 minutes (we were tired as hell). The pool was dirty (a big reason why we decided on this hotel). The next day my partner was sick and they decide they want to change the air-con. Although, they said it was going to be an hour it took ages. When they finished with the air-con the music in the restaurant was so loud and after about 45 mins I went to tell them to turn it down. The next couple of days they were building a signage outside where they were constantly drilling, grinding and hammering. In the night before we checked out they were playing karaoke... and in the other corner drilling, grinding continued. Go figure!?!? Positive Nice building with a lot of potential if management get their act together.

Solid D2 budget option in peaceful location.

The building was beautiful in a leafy, quiet corner of district 2, close to good food options both local and Western.

Mattress and pillows weren't the comfiest, pool area a little neglected.

The swimming pool was great.

The swimming pool was great. You don’t expect it at a budget place but it is essential for me when there is no beach.

There were many mosquitoes in the room when I arrived which bit me immediately, but I am very susceptible to bites from them. As someone with a pretty severe allergy, it was a worry though. Pretty sure they killed them when I discussed the issue with staff - when I came back after a trip out there wasn’t a single one in sight.

The shower was not very hot or powerful. The pool water was OK but the pool itself was not clean enough.

The location and facilities were the only reason I booked...

The location and facilities were the only reason I booked this Villa, the location is perfect for district 2 expat community but the facilities and cleanliness let my stay down.

Overall the cleanliness of this villa is pretty poor, I could not swim in the pool as it was dirty, people smoked and full ashtrays were everywhere and the bathroom was old and dirty. The first room I had was disgusting, stains on bed covers but Kim moved me so I ended up staying nearly 3 weeks and it's a hard one because it was the cheapest I found but not worth the money at all and Kim was lovely. Need to sort out the cleaners and upgrade the rooms.

Not the greatest experience.

Staff were helpful.

The lock to the gate was broken so no one's front door key worked. This meant that all night long each returning guest needed to hammer on the door to gain entry. Not great for anyone trying to sleep!!! Decided to check out after one night - staff and management were great about this. A long way from 'downtown'. Pleasant enough - but more a place to live than to stay as a tourist in my opinion.
